We are
currently looking for funk, jazz, reggae, & blues bands for Friday nights @ The Twilight Room, in North Portland.
Here's a bit of info about The Twilight Room...
We are located at... 5242 N. Lombard Portland, OR. 97203 www.myspace.com/thetwilightroom
We do not charge a cover, but do offer a
minimum guarantee with bonus potential. We only have live music one night a week, the University of Portland is right down
the street (and we are their bar), so we like to mix it up, karaoke with The Captain on Wed & Sat, and Dj Kube
every Thursday night... that leaves our live music nights in high demand, and we don't over-saturate our market. We have a
great local crowd!!! Usually one band covers three 45-50 minute sets. I can offer $100 and drinks minimum (for bands
that I haven't worked with before, this is our base pay), but if the bar is doing well and there is a good crowd, then
you will make more!!! Most bands leave with $150-250 depending on the crowd and set length/quality... we have
an excellent reputation of making sure our bands are well taken care of. Otherwise they wouldn't come back!!!
Load
in at 9pm, *See load-in blog!!! Sound check around 9:30, Start up before 10pm, Playtime is 3, 45-50 minute sets,
with a couple of short, 15 minute breaks in-between...
We have a powered Mackie 808M - 8 channel mixer with 2
- 15" mains and 3 - 15" monitors, Shure Beta & Audix vocal mics, Audix instrument mics, D.I. boxes, super solid stands,
a sound engineer and a video tech....
All shows are 21 & over. Any other questions just hit me up!!!
Thanks!

Music Review - Cool Hand Cobretti by Neil Zawicki Classic albums last forever on wax or cd,
but classic shows are harder to keep capsulated in time. A good director can catch the show on DVD, VHS, or film but it loses
the true vibe. After years of concert going you start to realize when a show has taken it to another level. When a show has
aligned with the stars. All of the ingredients have come together to create an energy that fills the room. Finding this energy
is hard to do, but when you are surrounded by it, you know it's there. I found that energy on Saturday June 11th 2005, at
The Portsmouth club. Somehow the Portsmouth club has lured in some topnotch acts as of late. That doesn't blow my mind, but
what does is the fact they're throwing these shows for free. Like to hear more about the club and the line up. Contact information
for club at the bottom of the article.
On this particular night, the bill included the story telling, lyrical slyles of Northeast Portlands Izzy-L.
North/Northeast rap group Sidewayz Speech, brought there high energy stage show crunkin through there set with material from
the new album, Taken Over. Sleep who is grinding out his solo album tour, rocked the crowd with material from his solo joint,
Chistopher, Sleep also kicked music from the soon to be released El Chicharones album, Pork Grind Disco. Sleep spits in and
out of all kinds of styles, his music is moody. Fun yet realist grimey yet not gangsta music. You can find any of these albums
on the Internet at Superhappywax.com., or at most local record stores. (can you tell us more about the music) If you haven't
heard of Sleep you will soon.

The Portsmouth Club Lounge
"P"-Club Fan
Posted by marlash on 08/28/2004 The Portsmouth Club offers alot inspite of its small- town-bar curb appeal. From friendly service,
a variety of good foods, and affordable prices to entertainment like karaoke, open-mike night, and live bands every weekend
night with no cover. After spending time at the more recognized hot spots around Portland, the Portsmouth Club is one of the
only places where you can still get a REAL drink.

Gig Review: Portsmouth Lounge - 8/28 First of
all, as a band, ya gotta love the Portsmouth. They pay you well, give you free beer, & appreciate your being there.
It's a top-notch establishment with good sound and a great environment. If you haven't been there, check it out. There is
that one bartender who acts like a bit of a Richard, but at least he keeps his disdain quiet.
Mind Cell. Pretty heavy shit and good. How about a power ballad
boys? You know, something for the masses (yes, this is a joke). Getting a new drummer less than a week ago didn't stop them
from a short, but powerful set. Would've liked to have talked to them more, but they ditched before our set.
Mother Chump is an excellent 3 piece band. Great distinct riffs with excellent musicianship, songs that weave around and
return, all with two very pretty female eyes staring you down righteously and angrily. The only way it could have been better
is if I was eating a 12 pack of Twinkies at the time. This is the kind of band where you want to see them live, listen to
their CD a few times, then see them live again. Repetition will bring appreciation.
Evil Egg I hate to say it, but for Evil Egg, that
was a pretty tight show. I can count my own personal musical errors on just two hands, two feet and a monstrous penis (21
or less). We had a great time hanging out all night with our friends. The highlight for me was Billy Wonder's magical finger
dancing (context important here). Dr. Corky Stew revealed a new quirky hairstyle that was both striking and trendsetting.
In the bathroom after the show, I saw 2 guys trying to emulate the look. The Evil Egg, LBJ Productions masterful Vishnu nightmare
creation, stole the show once again. Applause from the crowd was probably more a result of fear of Edwin the Egg, the Evil
Egg. Edwin beat the living shit out of 3 karaokeers in the parking lot: serves 'em rightâ Frickin' Copacabanaheads.
Special thanks to James, Bobo, Abbey, Michelle, JR, Evil Geniuz, and A Bombin' Nation. GO SEE A BOMBIN' NATION RIGHT NOW!!!
It's who we are. We miss playing with them.
